How does Dyn-A-line work?
It is a dynamic putting practice aid that trains and positions an aligned stroke every time. The fact that it is made of metal and you use it to train with and hit putts is a huge key because when you take Dyn-A-line off the club and take strokes again you still feel the after affects of using it. That is what makes the change to your stroke over time! The Training Trident is a main ingredient to changing your stroke because it gives instant feedback if you do something wrong. If you flip your hands or swing your arms off line the Trident will instantly come away from the body and you feel the error of the stroke. When you do it right and the Trident stays attached on all three points the face is completely controlled and the ball rolls on line.
What is the Training Trident?
It is a piece attached to the end of the alignment stick that comes in contact with the upper left side of the chest for a right handed player. The Trident has two sides: the three pronged Trident side and the one tip Pro Pointer side. As you advance in your training you switch from the Training Trident to the Pro Pointer. Then if you are really good you only use the tip of the stick to keep your stroke aligned on the Vertical Hinge Point.
What exactly is the "Vertical Hinge Point"?
Ahhh...That is the million dollar putting question! The VHP is the point that the putter intersects at the top of the backswing and the top of the follow through. So if you video and draw a line on the shaft at address, then another line when the backswing is finished, then a final line at the end of the forward stroke, those lines should all intersect on the setup shaft line at the same point. All great/elite putters do this...If you started to name top putters on tour over the last 10 years I could show you their lines and you would see they look just like the logo...Now I am not talking about streaky good putters! I am talking about players that are always making putts, not those that get on a hot streak for a week at a time.
